McKinstry Elementary is located at 1410 Independence Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa. It is home
to over 450 children in PreKindergarten through Fifth Grade. McKinstry first opened its doors to students in 1953 as
a middle school. During the early '80s it began serving elementary students. The school is named after the late
Charles McKinstry who served on the Waterloo Schools Board of Education.
